After starting his career in 2011, Malone became well-known thanks to his breakthrough song “White Iverson” from 2015, which peaked at number 14 on the US Billboard Hot 100. After inking a recording deal with Republic Records, Malone put out his debut album Stoney (2016), which featured the platinum-selling single “Congratulations” featuring Quavo and broke the record for the most weeks (77) on the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums rank. Beerbongs & Bentleys (2018), his second album, broke multiple streaming records and opened at number one on the US Billboard 200. It was nominated for Album of the Year at the 61st Grammy Awards and featured the US number-one singles “Psycho” (featuring Ty Dolla Sign) and “Rockstar” (featuring 21 Savage).
Hollywood’s Bleeding (2019), Malone’s third album, was his second number one. “Sunflower” became the highest-certified song in RIAA history at 17x platinum. Malone’s third number one, “Sunflower” (with Swae Lee), served as the lead single and promotional track to the soundtrack for the 2018 Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. “Circles,” its second single, spent 61 weeks on the Hot 100 and went on to become his fourth number-one song in the US. Additionally, it was 2020’s most-played radio song. With the help of the US top-ten singles “I Like You (A Happier Song)” (featuring Doja Cat) and “One Right Now” (with the Weeknd), his fourth album, Twelve Carat Toothache, was released in June 2022.

In addition to her nine Grammy Award nominations, she has won ten Billboard Music Awards, three American Music Awards, and one MTV Video Music Award. With eight diamond-certified songs to his credit as of 2023, Malone is the artist with the most of all time.
On July 4, 1995, Austin Richard Post was born in Syracuse, New York. Richard Post, his father, and Jodie, his stepmother, raised him. As a child, his father worked as a DJ, exposing Malone to a wide variety of musical styles, such as rock, hip hop, and country. Malone’s father became the Dallas Cowboys’ concessions manager, and the family moved to Grapevine, Texas, when he was nine years old. After picking up the instrument, Malone tried out for the 2010 American band Crown the Empire, but his audition was cut short when one of his guitar strings broke. He attributed his early enthusiasm for learning the guitar to Guitar Hero.
Having always loved alternative rock, Malone performed a DJ set at Emo Nite in Los Angeles, California, in June 2017. During the gig, she played songs by the American alt-rock group My Chemical Romance. As far as Malone is concerned, he started his career in music professionally when he played in a heavy metal band. He claims that shortly after, he switched from hip hop to softer rock before starting to play around with FL Studio.
Malone creates pop-rap, pop, R&B, trap, rap rock, hip hop, and cloud rap music. Malone himself has been called versatile, and his music has been described as a “melting pot of the country, grunge, and hip hop.” One description of his vocal style is “laconic”. Malone was characterized as “an artist who toes the line between singing and rapping, and hip-hop and spooky electric folk” by Jon Caramanica of The New York Times. Malone has referred to his music as “genre-less” himself.
Despite the fact that Dylan’s music has been described as being “about as far away from Rock n’ Roll as you can get,” Malone credits Dylan, whom he first became interested in around the age of 15, as an influence on his work, calling him “a genius” and “a god.” “Subterranean Homesick Blues” was dubbed the “first rap song” by him. He also has a tattoo of Dylan. Malone has also mentioned Johnny Cash and Kurt Cobain as important influences. Malone also mentioned Key!, Kanye West, and 50 Cent as influences. He referred to 50 Cent as a legend.
