From Oologah, Oklahoma, Zachary Lane Bryan is a singer-songwriter who specializes in country music. He was born on April 2, 1996. American Heartbreak, his major-label debut album, peaked at number five on the US Billboard 200. His self-titled album made its US Billboard 200 debut at number one in 2023, and the song “I Remember Everything” with Kacey Musgraves also had its US Billboard Hot 100 debut at the top.
In 2017, Bryan began posting his music to YouTube, with the help of his pals, who used an iPhone to capture him performing. His song “Heading South” eventually gained popularity.
DeAnn, his debut album, was released on August 24, 2019, and was a tribute to his late mother. It was written in two months, and it was recorded in a Florida Airbnb with his buddies. Bryan’s first public performance took place in October 2019 in Medford, Oregon. Since then, he has made other notable appearances in addition to his Ryman debut. Elisabeth, the follow-up album, was released on May 8, 2020. In a converted barn behind his Washington house, he cut the album.
Bryan made his Grand Ole Opry debut on April 10, 2021. He later agreed to distribute his tracks through Warner Records.
Just in time for his upcoming statewide “Ain’t For Tamin’ Tour” in the fall of 2021, Bryan stated on October 14, 2021, that the U.S. Navy had honorably discharged him after eight years of duty so that he may pursue a career in music. He stated, “If it was my decision, I would never get out of the world’s greatest Navy, but here I am and they kindly honorably discharged me to go play some music.”
Bryan declared on January 25, 2022, that he would release American Heartbreak, a triple album, his major-label debut, on May 20, 2022. The biggest opening week for a country album in 2022, it opened at number five on the US Billboard 200 with nearly 70,000 album-equivalent sales.
Bryan released the singles “Starved” on October 11, 2022, and “Fifth of May” and “The Greatest Day of My Life” shortly after.
He released a live album from Red Rocks Amphitheatre titled All My Homies Hate Ticketmaster (Live from Red Rocks) on Christmas Day 2022.
Bryan won the Academy of Country Music’s New Male Artist of the Year award in May 2023.
Bryan’s fourth album, also titled Bryan, was made available on August 25, 2023. It entered the Billboard 200 at the top spot.
He released Boys of Faith- EP on September 22, 2023, which included the song “Sarah’s Place” with Noah Kahan.
